Mr.
Lubitz, who is licensed to practice in Colorado
and Minnesota, earned his law degree in 1983. He
concentrates his practice in the areas of real
estate, water law, environmental law, and
general corporate and commercial transactions,
including commercial litigation. Through his
experience, he has attained a unique global
perspective of business, real estate, and
development related issues.
Mr. Lubitz was previously a member of the Denver
office of the Dorsey & Whitney law firm. Dorsey
& Whitney is an international firm with 22
offices in the United States, Canada, Asia and
Europe. While with the firm, Mr. Lubitz
practiced in the areas of real estate,
environmental law, general business, banking law
and other financial transactions.
From 1995 to 2001, Mr. Lubitz served as General
Counsel to a $2 billion water development
company which provided him with extensive water
law and real estate experience, as well as the
opportunity to deal with many of the same
political, environmental and public relations
issues that envelop all development.
Specifically, Mr. Lubitz handled all legal
aspects of the water project, including
environmental and engineering related legal
issues, as well as political and public policy
issues related to the project. He managed the
day-to-day operations of the company, and was
instrumental in marketing, negotiating and
contracting for the sale of water with major
Front Range municipal water departments, and
water & sanitation districts. During this same
time he also served as General Counsel to a
160,000 acre ranching/farming operation in the
San Luis Valley, Colorado.
In December 2001, Mr. Lubitz joined the Hale
Friesen, LLP, law firm where he concentrated his
practiced in the areas of water law, real
estate, environmental law, natural resources,
oil and gas, general corporate, commercial and
banking law, as well as commercial litigation.
In January 2007, Mr. Lubitz joined the Oster &
Martin, LLC, law firm where he continues to
practice in the areas of real estate, water law,
environmental law, natural resources, oil and
gas, general corporate, commercial and banking
law, as well as commercial litigation.
