Mr.
Hyman provides a full range of business law
services to established and emerging growth
companies. Drawing upon more than fifteen years
of diverse legal and practical entrepreneurial
business experience, he regularly counsels
clients regarding corporate organizational and
governance issues, general commercial
transactions, strategic acquisitions,
debtor-creditor issues, copyright and trademark
protection and licensing, software licensing,
employment matters, and complex commercial
litigation.
He received his undergraduate degree in 1988
(B.A., History) from George Washington
University, and his law degree in 1991 from
Villanova University School of Law.
From 1992 to 1994, Mr. Hyman practiced in New
York with the entertainment law firm of Hyman,
Levy & Hyman. In 1994, Mr. Hyman left private
practice and joined Kitchen Sink Entertainment,
Inc., a multifaceted publishing, merchandising
and media production company, as its Vice
President of Business Affairs and Merchandising.
In 1995, Mr. Hyman was promoted to Executive
Vice President, Chief Operating Officer of
Kitchen Sink. In that capacity, he was
responsible for overseeing all legal affairs and
day-to-day operations of the company.
In 1997, Mr. Hyman relocated to Boulder,
Colorado where he founded Derivative Works,
Inc., a licensed products manufacturing
business. As President and CEO of Derivative
Works he secured and negotiated merchandising
licenses from the National Football League,
Major League Baseball, the National Hockey
League and others, oversaw a multi-national
manufacturing program, and established a
mass-market distribution network for the
company’s products.
In 2001, Mr. Hyman returned to private practice,
joining the Denver law firm of Hale Friesen, LLP
and in January 2007, Mr. Hyman joined Oster &
Martin, LLC.
Mr. Hyman is licensed to practice in Colorado,
New York, and New Jersey.
