Ilene's
penchant for organization comes from nine years
of service in the U.S. Army as an intelligence
analyst, television news anchor and member of
the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit. She received
her paralegal certification in 1991 and worked
for three attorneys in Oklahoma City until the
bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building
on April 19, 1995. Later that year, Ilene
accepted a position with the U.S. Attorney’s
Office as a legal assistant in the white collar
crime division. Showing dedication and a drive
for organization and detail in case preparation,
she was transferred to the Oklahoma City Bombing
Prosecution Team which moved to Denver,
Colorado, for the preparation and trials of both
Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols. After
McVeigh’s appeal process was completed in 1999,
Ilene worked for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in
Denver, Colorado, until she accepted a position
as a litigation paralegal with Jacobs Chase
Frick Kleinkopf & Kelley, LLC, where she worked
on major construction and commercial litigation
cases in both state and federal courts. Of
particular note is a state court judge’s praise
of her in his final paragraph of his findings of
fact, conclusions of law, and order for entry of
judgment for “keeping the train on the tracks”
during a lengthy trial that involved Ilene’s use
of electronic trial software along with her
other trial responsibilities.
Ilene joined Oster & Martin, LLC in January 2006
as Manager - Paralegal Services. She, John
Martin and Jon Oster worked together in the past
at a previous firm and now have the opportunity
to combine their legal talents to provide
clients the combination of years of legal
experience and perform it in today’s
technological-based courts.
Ilene is married
and enjoys her free time motorcycling and
snowskiing.
